WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY

September has been designated as National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month with World Suicide Prevention Day on Monday September 10, 2018. This month is meant to provide awareness and remembrance of the victims and survivors of suicide. It is also meant to remind us that Suicide is an international public health issue that is not unique to the Long Island/New York area. To honor the importance of this month, the following activities are planned in the Long Island Region:

Sept 20 & 21: New York State Suicide Prevention Conference in Albany https://nyssuicidepreventionconference.org/
Sept 21: Bowling Fundraiser for Suicide Prevention 6:30pm-9:30pm (Farmingdale Lanes) $25.00

Outside of September but worth mentioning is the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of the Darkness walk on October 28, 2018 at Jones Beach Field 5 afsp.org/longislandwalk
