SAMHSA Develops New Mental Health Crisis App
Yesterday, SAMHSA released a new mobile app intended to assist individuals with serious mental illness to guide their treatment preferences during a mental health crisis. My Mental Health Crisis Plan walks through the process of creating and sharing a psychiatric advance directive (PAD), a legal document that allows individuals to identify preferences regarding treatment, medication, hospitals, mental health professionals, and more. The individual can then share the PAD with others through the app. Learn more about the app and how to download it here.
