Criminal Justice Resources
If you, or a loved one, are currently struggling with a mental illness and also facing incarceration, we understand this is a very tough period for you.
There are several organizations that can support and assist you during this period so you don’t go through this alone. These organizations provide services pre-incarceration, during incarceration and post-incarceration. They assist in a variety of ways, from advocating for individuals to serve through a community-based alternative to incarceration (Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services), to providing free legal and advocacy services to children and adults with disabilities (During Incarceration Assistance) to empowering formerly incarcerated and their families (Alliance of Families for Justice).
Following are links to these new pages on our website with this information; 1) pre-incarceration 2) during incarceration and 3) post-incarceration. We hope this will empower you to be able to make informed choices, and most of all remind you that you are not alone.
Please note these resources were put together by our diligent Criminal Justice Committee. Please email us if you would like to be involved with this committee or add to these resources, firstname.lastname@example.org
