To all the members of our NAMI Queens/Nassau community;
In light of recent developments related to the Covid-19 virus and out of an abundance of caution, NAMI Queens/Nassau is taking the following actions related to programs, classes and events starting 03/13/20:
- BeachFest 2020 scheduled for April 25th, 2020 will be postponed until the Fall (Stay tuned for a new date as well as virtual events, we thank you for your ongoing support and enthusiasm.)
- Our BeachFest 2020 kickoff event scheduled for March 18th at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock has been cancelled and will be rescheduled.
- All programs, classes support groups and any other in person events/activities will be temporarily suspended.
Over the coming days, we will be working to implement alternatives for programs and support groups, including video conferencing that will be accessible from your computer, tablet or phone for our support groups and programming. Please continue to visit our website for updates, as we will be providing updates and instructions related to remote program access.
In the meantime, for any activities relate to our office operations, we will be implementing the protocols issued in the General Guidance for NYS Behavioral Health Programs - REVISED March 11, 2020 issued by the New York State Office of Mental Health (please see OMH PDF below).
At this time we ask that you curtail visits to our office. If you must visit, please call us in advance, so that we can prescreen you (please see page 2 paragraph 1 of the NYS OMH guidance).
We apologize for any inconvenience and hope that together we will be will emerge from this unprecedented public health crisis stronger than ever.
